Ronnie grew up in Rock Island, IL until the age of 12 when his family moved to California. He attended school in Pasadena until the age of 17 when he joined the military and served his country during the Korean War.
Upon returning home from the military he met and later married Joan Freeman in 1957. Ronnie and Joan lived in Compton, CA until 1965, during this time four children were born to this union. The family relocated to Missouri in the summer of 1965 and made their home in Cabool.
Ronnie worked for the City of Cabool for many years and in 1980 he began working for the Cabool School District as a custodian. He “officially” retired in 1999, but because of his love for the children he maintained a position as the crossing guard until his sudden death.
Ronnie attended New Testament Church for many years and was baptized along with his children, Junior and Sunnie Joi in 1977. Later, the family moved to worship at the Pleasant Home Church where they currently attend. He had a great love for his family and always enjoyed special occasions when they were all together. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of his life.
