Clark Godsy, 87, of Stotts City, Missouri, and formerly of Willow Springs, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2008, at Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
He was born on February 20, 1921 in Willow Springs, the eldest son of Harrison and Mary (Rader) Godsy.
Clark served in the U.S. Army, 836th Engineer Aviation Battalion from September 1942 to November 1945. During this time he received four Bronze Stars and many other service awards.
He was a retired farmer and lived in the Willow Springs area most of his life.
Clark was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hillard; his first wife, Marcella; and an infant daughter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mae of Stotts City; their 11 children, Raymond and Sheila Godsy of Aurora, Missouri, Dwayne and Frane Godsy of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Joe and Tammy Godsy of Oregon City, Oregon, John and Bev Godsy of Woodburn, Oregon, David and Debbie Godsy of Molalla, Oregon, Terry and Mary (Godsy) Smith of Ranchocucamunga, California, Paul Severson of Mt. Vernon, Jim and Phyllis Severson of Canby, Oregon, Rick Severson of the state of Washington, Linda Hoyt of Willow Springs, and JoAnn Aguilar of Portland, Oregon; two brothers, Rector and Darlene Godsy of Willow Springs and Delbert and Darlene Godsy of Mtn. View, Missouri; one sister, Maty and Hugh Kentch of Iowa; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one uncle and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services were at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2008, at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Dwayne Godsy, Joe Godsy, John Godsy, David Godsy, Raymond Godsy and Howard Alexander. Honorary pallbearer was Tom Campbell. Interment with full military honors was in Nease Cemetery near Willow Springs, under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool, Missouri.
