Danny Bruce Salisbury, 61, of Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away suddenly on January 3, 2009 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was a truck driver for many years and had many stories to tell; those stories will be dearly missed. He had a love for cooking, fishing and the beauty of nature.
Known as Bruce to those who loved him, he was born March 18, 1947 in Elk Creek, Missouri, to Woody and Susie Salisbury. The family moved from Missouri to Oklahoma in 1956. There he attended and graduated Bethany High School. He went on to join the Army and serve a tour of duty in Viet Nam.
Bruce is survived by his wife, AnneMarie Salisbury of Chandler, Oklahoma; daughter Kristi and son Scott, both of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters Betty Winschell of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Joyce Cullum of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; brothers Jack Salisbury and wife Joy of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Bob Salisbury of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; stepdaughter Sandee and granddaughters Morgan and Rebecca, all of Meeker, Oklahoma.
Danny Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and an older sister, Della Mae.
He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him, his family, his friends and his “trucker family,” as well as his four-legged co-driver of 13 years, Pebbles.
