Leo Clifton Kelley, 87, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2008, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center, Mountain Grove, Missouri.
He was born December 15, 1920 at Huggins, Missouri, the son of John and Ida (Boyer) Kelley.
On January 20, 1943, he was united in marriage to Wilma Burch.
He served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
After the war he made his home in the Fairview community where he and Wilma raised their family and farmed. He also owned and operated a milk route. He enjoyed raising a garden and giving the produce away to his neighbors and friends. He attended Fairview Church.
He is survived by his four daughters, Nancy Fisher and husband David of Houston, Missouri, Linda Anderson of Enid, Oklahoma, June Lear and husband Gary and Sue Connolly and husband Dean of Sturgeon, Missouri; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Herschel Kelley and wife Mildred and Dennis Kelley, all of Iowa, and Norman Kelley and wife Pat of Arizona; four sisters, Opal Hart of Mtn. Grove, Ursie Moore of Houston, and Nadine Dommer and husband Lawerence and Fern Horn, all of Iowa; and his special friend, Edith Young.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; his parents; one sister, Edith Robertson; one brother, Russell Kelley; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Services were August 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church. Pastor John Emery officiated. Burial was in Bado Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home, Houston.
