Robert Paul Gardner

Mr. Robert Paul Gardner, 71, of Cabool, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2009, near Ozone, Arkansas, as the result of a motorcycle accident.

He was born on February 21, 1938 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Clarence and Lillian (Hansen) Gardner.

Bob received his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army. He lived in Iowa for the majority of his life, working for RR Donelly as a book binder until 1999 when he retired after 40 years. He also served his community as a volunteer fire fighter for 20 years. After retiring, Bob and his wife, Velma Jo, moved to their farm near Cabool, Missouri.

After his wife passed away in December 2006, Bob became acquainted with several people in town. He was a very free-spirited person who could talk to anyone. He was very proud of his BMW motorcycle and enjoyed riding as much as he could.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Velma Jo.

He is survived by his son, Brian Gardner of Plano, Texas, and his daughter, Michelle Gardner of Iowa, as well as many friends who will dearly miss him.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Set Free Ministries in Cabool. Arrangements were under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be given to Set Free Ministries of Cabool in care of the funeral home: P.O. Box 708, Cabool, MO 65689.
