She was born August 27, 1936, in Oakley, Kansas, the daughter of Herman and Mary (Mader) Lintel. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Wichita, Kansas.
Marietta married James E. Snyder, and to this union four children were born. They later divorced. She then married Byron Coats; he preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and was active in their garden club. She enjoyed gardening, gambling and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Marietta was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
Survivors include her children, Jenny Prichard (William) of Topeka, James D. Snyder of Topeka, Von L. Snyder (Candy) of LaVergne, Tennessee, and Vance A. Snyder (Kim) of Mt. Vernon, Washington; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings Armella Kruse of Oakley, Kansas, Eunice Weber of Goodland, Kansas, Lela Heier of Sharon Springs, Kansas, Geraldine Swart of Grinnell, Kansas, and Donnie Lintel of Kingman, Arizona; and 56 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James E. Snyder, and her sisters, LaVerna Robben and Elaine Hammerschmidt.
A funeral service and burial will take place in Oakley, Kansas, at a later date.
