Ruth Lorene Caldwell

Ruth Lorene Caldwell, 92, of Cabool, Missouri, passed away on October 1, 2014 at Kabul Nursing Home.

She was born on October 28, 1921 near Vanzant, Missouri, the daughter of Grady and Rettie (Reed) Wood. She grew up in the Vanzant community.

She was united in marriage to Norman J. Reece in 1942; to this union two children were born, David and Deanna. Ruth worked at Brown Shoe Factory for a number of years and enjoyed the many friendships that she had there.

Norman passed away on October 3, 1982 and she was then married to Noble Caldwell in 1985.

Ruth loved her family and friends dearly and was happiest when she was with them. She was a member of Maness Memorial Baptist Church where she enjoyed spending time in worship and with her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Rettie Wood; her husbands, Norman J. Reece and Noble Caldwell; her daughter, Deanna Evans; and three brothers, Ray, Marion and Kenneth Wood.

She is survived by her son, David Reece and wife Xuantien “Angel” of Cabool; three grandchildren, Angie Totten, David Lee Reece and Lakaya Reece; five great-grandchildren, MacKenzie and Marshall Totten, Megan, Chastity and Hunter Deanna Reece; and a sister-in-law, Louise Wood. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2014, at Maness Memorial Baptist Church in Cabool with Terry Brown officiating. Pallbearers were David Lee Reece, Marshall Totten, Ed Carda, Floyd Ebert, Donnie Wells and Bobby Brill. Interment was in Mt. Ararat Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool. Online condolences may be made at www.egcfuneralhome.com.
