Mr. Walker was born on June 22, 1944 in Buffalo, New York, to the late Velton Clifford and Helen Strong Walker. From New York he moved to Costa Rica in Central America, then to the Mtn. View and Birch Tree, Missouri, area in the 1970s, then to Willow Springs, Missouri, and then to Jonesboro this last year.
Mr. Walker was baptized in 1985 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and later became an elder. He loved to read the Bible and talk to people about it. His knowledge and faith in the Bible greatly improved the quality of his life. He kept his integrity despite many health problems. He enjoyed gardening, farming, and traveling. He was a direct and honest man that was loyal to his family. He also had a variety of interesting jobs.
Survivors include his wife, Jane (Powell) Walker of the home, formerly of Cabool, Missouri; one son, Jeffrey Walker of Mtn. View, Missouri; one sister, Joanne Calandra or Port St. Lucy, Florida; his former wife and the mother of his children, Susanne Doris Collier; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sheila Marie Northcutt; and one grandson, Bujen Walker.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Jonesboro, Arkansas, with Bro. David Milbrant officiating.
