Valirea is survived by her daughter, Kayla of Springfield, Missouri; her son, John of Elk Creek; her parents of Louisiana Missouri; sisters, Debra (Bob) Clark of Mahomet, Illinois and Vicki (Ray) Everding of Columbia, Illinois and brothers, Bryce (Doris Jo) Love of Louisiana, Missouri and Curtis Love of Bowling Green, Missouri. She also leaves behind aunts and uncles as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and a great-nephew and cousins.
Valirea grew up in the Louisiana area and graduated from Louisiana High School in 1989 where she was an accomplished musician, playing the flute and winning numerous honors in band. She was a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient, drum major and cheerleader and a member of National Honor Society.
She graduated cum laude from Southwest Missouri State University in 1993 with a bachelor of science degree in communications and a minor in journalism.
After graduation, she married Carey Shriver on June 11, 1994. They owned and operated Shriver Companies together with Carey’s parents. She enjoyed going to the lake with family and friends and attending John and Kayla’s many events.
Valirea loved her family and her highest accomplishment was in being a wonderful mother to her two children. She was very involved in activities to support them as a band booster and a Girl Scout leader and also belonged to Sorosis locally. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend, hard-working and always looking for ways to help others. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Private funeral and burial services will be held at a later date.
