Anita Pauline Lueker

Anita Pauline Lueker, daughter of Gail “Bud” Scherer and the late Cheryl Scherer, was born on March 15, 1965, in Springfield, Missouri, and departed this life on September 15, 2015, at her home in Vanzant, Missouri. She was 50 years and six months of age.

Anita grew up in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and graduated from Mountain Grove High School. She was a nurse for 18 years at Kabul Nursing Home and Pineview Heights in Cabool, Missouri. Anita loved to hunt, fish, her dogs, and exploring this beautiful world that God has to offer.

She greatly enjoyed the home she and her husband and soul mate, Daniel, built together in the country. Daniel loved Anita more than life itself. Her love changed Daniel’s life; it made him realize what true love can be. He will always be grateful for sharing such a wonderful feeling. She was a wonderful woman, a loving wife, and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Anita’s favorite saying was “Never say anything you have to say sorry for. One day at a time.” She fought a very long and hard battle.

Anita was preceded in death by her mother, Cheryl; her grandparents; and one sister, Adeana Kay Dickison.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dan Lueker of the home; two sons, Patrick Thornton of Mountain Grove and Shane Lueker and his family of Henderson, Colorado; one daughter, Stacy Lueker of Grand Junction, Colorado; one brother, James Scherer of Chicago, Illinois; one sister, Alisha Repic of Texas; a host of grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Victory Church at 10:00 a.m. There will be a covered-dish lunch following the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
