Dale Watts

Dale E. Watts, 82, of Pekin, Illinois, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015.

He was born February 16, 1933 in Cass County, Iowa, to Verl and Velma Crum Watts.

He married Lenna Cox on May 27, 1955 in Cabool, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, Lenna; a daughter, Deborah Myers of Pekin; a son, Ronald and Janet Watts of Pekin; four grandchildren, Eric and Rachel Myers, Greg Watts, Ivy Watts, and Christy and Devie Burks, all of Pekin; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert and Nancy Watts of Peoria, Illinois; and a sister, Reba and John Rychnovsky of Diagonal, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Rick Myers.

Dale was a 1951 graduation of Cabool High School. He served in the United States Army. He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 35 years, retiring from the research and development department in Mossville, Illinois, in 1986.

A loving father and grandfather, Dale loved to hunt, fish, go camping, square dancing and bowling.

His memorial service was September 10, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin with military rites provided by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Burial of cremated remains will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
