Lela Lorraine Means

Lela Lorraine Means, 64, Springfield, Missouri, passed away September 6, 2015.

She was born April 27, 1951 in Palmdale, California, to Dewey and Jean Lawrence.

Lorraine married Don Culp and together they had a daughter, Faedra. After divorce, Lorraine remarried Elvis Lewis and together they had a son, James. After divorce, Lorraine remarried Lester Means and together they had a daughter Denise. Lorraine and Lester were married till his passing.

She enjoyed reading mystery novels by Dean Koontz. Lorraine also like the outdoors such as fishing and going to the river, however she wouldn’t go in past her knees. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Lawrence and Jean Lovan; her grandparents, Frank and Luella Jones, to whom she was very close; a brother, Ronnie Lawrence; and an uncle, Bud Jones.

She is survived by her children, Faedra Stauffer, James Lewis and wife Sharley, and Denise Means; siblings Betty Hobel, Margie Culp and husband Don, and Jack Lawrence; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a mother-in-law, Dorothea Means; other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Almost Home Ministries in Mountain Grove, Missouri, with Pastor Jerry Rattery officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Holden Cremation and Funeral Service, Sparta, Missouri.
