Deanna Lee (Morrison) Janes

Deanna Lee (Morrison) Janes, 48, of West Plains, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, October 26, 2015, at her home following a heart attack.

She was born on August 19, 1967 in Inglewood, California, the daughter of Julia Spencer and Terry McSweeny and granddaughter of Iva Dorlene Morrison. She graduated from Cabool High School with the Class of 1986. She continued her education at Drury University where she obtained an associate’s degree.

Deanna worked as a medical transcriptionist most of her life, but was currently employed at Captain D’s in West Plains. She really enjoyed working with the public.

She was baptized at an early age and attended First Baptist Church in Cabool, Missouri, for many years.

Deanna was united in marriage to Kris Janes on February 14, 2009, and they became known as “Dee and Doc.”

Deanna was preceded in death by her previous husband, Jim Mercer; her mother, Julia Spencer; and her father, Terry McSweeny.

She is survived by her husband, Kris of the home; her grandmother, Dorlene Morrison of West Plains; her daughter, Christina Allen and husband Cliff of Pomona, Missouri; her son, Robbie King of Council Bluffs, Iowa; stepdaughters Ashley Harrill of West Plains and Amber Janes of Mtn. View, Missouri; stepson Coty Janes of West Plains; granddaughters Camron Morrison and Cora Allen of Pomona; brother Raymond Morrison and wife Sharon of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; brother Mark Morrison of Colorado; sister Carrie (Morrison) Tryon of Ozark, Missouri; brother Travis Spencer, West Plains; aunt and uncle Lydia and Jimmy Morack of West Plains; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
