Harry “Junior” Adkison

Harry “Junior” Adkison, 84, Union, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016, in Washington, Missouri.

Harry was born October 17, 1931 in Bloodland, Missouri, the son of Harry Herman Adkison and Sylvia (Vaughn) Adkison.

He graduated from Cabool High School in Cabool, Missouri. He served in the Army from 1952 to 1954.

He was united in marriage to Lillia Mofield on February 11, 1956 in Normandy, Missouri. He worked at Boise Cascade Composite Can Manufacturing for 30 years. He was a life member of AmVets Post 108 in Rocky Mount, Missouri, and a longtime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3944 in Overland, Missouri. Harry loved his family and being in the outdoors fishing and hunting.

Harry is survived by his wife, Lillia Adkison of Union; two sons, Richard Adkison and wife Sherry of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Ronald Ray Adkison of Union; four grandchildren, Jessica Wong and husband Andrew, Jeremy Adkison, Ronald Ray Adkison, Jr., and Carly Rae Adkison; one brother, Robert Adkison and wife Mable of Mountain Grove, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Wanda Knaak, and Warren and Gloria Adkison, both in infancy.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverbench Calvary Chapel, Washington. Burial followed at Valhalla Cemetery, Pagedale, Missouri, under the direction of Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington.

Memorials are requested to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association.
