Mack was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dollie and Bessie; and a brother, Dean.
He is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Christina of the home in Houston; four children, Mac Alson Cooper and wife Cathie of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, Janetta Foster and husband Steve of Cabool, Missouri, Twila Jenkins and husband JW of Ava, Missouri, and Tina Cooper of Houston; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; a brother, Jack Cooper and wife Mary Ann of Houston; a half sister, Ruth Best of California; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mack grew up in the Houston area and graduated from Houston High School.
He married Christina Pearl Stark June 26, 1958 and to this union four children were born.
Mack owned and operated Mack Cooper and Son Automotive from 1982 to 2003 where he made many lifelong friends. He and Christina could be found square dancing with his brother Jack and wife Mary Ann all around the area. He also enjoyed horses and buggies, woodworking, motorcycles and working with leather.
His greatest enjoyment was being around his friends and family. He was a wonderful husband, father, granddad, great-granddad, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed.
Services were Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in Evans Funeral Home. Pastor David Barbee officiated with burial in Central Baptist Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Zack Romines, Wes Segelhorst, Tristan Cooper, Mack E. Cooper, Dewayne Cooper and Greg “Bud” Dodson. The family requests memorials to the Mack Cooper Memorial Fund, c/o Evans Funeral Home.
