He was born on September 25, 1937 in Springfield, the son of Thomas and Addie Allen.
He was a hard determined worker, working at family auto salvage yards, Howards and B&W. He was also a longtime truck driver and wanted to drive all the way till the day he died.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Addie; brothers, Clay Allen and Lee Nimmo; sisters, Blanche, Dolly, Opal, Hazel, Lily, Angie and Ona; and nephews, Bobby, Kenny and James.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; daughters, Iva (Michael) Carder, Paula (Kevin) Loman, Cathy (Charles) Ondis, Donna (Jamie) Carder, and Anita (Matt) Cooper; son, Thomas (Bailey) Allen; grandchildren, Roseanne Carder, Kelcie Cooper, Micheal Loman, W. Anthony Cooper, Isabelle Cooper, Anora Mcbride and Sadie Allen; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Loman, Jeremiah Mullins and Wyatt Loman; sister, Lily Bryant and family; and many more nieces and nephews including Junior Bohnstedt, Ronnie Bryant, Stella, Sue, Glenda, Robert, Cliff and Sylvia.
He will be sorely missed. Even as a grumpy old man, he had a big heart and best sense of humor. He was loved by many, especially his children, wife and extended family and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the funeral chapel with Floyd and Charles Graham officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
