Sharon Kathleen Driskell

Sharon Kathleen Driskell, daughter of the late Roy and Lorene (Estes) Coffman, was born on September 4, 1951 in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and departed this life on November 22, 2016 at 65 years, two months, and 18 days of age.

Sharon was raised in Douglas County and spent the majority of her life in that area. She was saved and baptized as a teenager along with her mother, her brother David, and her sister Beverly. She graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1970, and then she graduated from Draughon’s Business College with her degree in accounting.
 
Sharon was blessed with two daughters, Amy and Jeanie. She was later united in marriage to Gomer Driskell, and they were married until he passed away. She and Jim Luellen became soul mates and they spent the remainder of her days together.
 
Sharon worked for many years at Brown Shoe Company in Mountain Grove, and she later became a cook and baker at Rockbridge Trout Ranch. She worked there for many years until her health started failing. Sharon loved to cook, and she was also famous for her quilts that she made. She enjoyed working with plants and also making rock gardens.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gomer Driskell, and one grandson, Daniel Tate.

Sharon is survived by her two daughters, Amy Tate of Cabool, Missouri, and Jeanie Tate of the state of Washington; one stepson, Calvin Driskell of Drury, Missouri; her soul mate, Jim Luellen of Drury; two brothers, David Coffman and wife Brenda of Mountain Grove, and Steve Coffman of Sparta, Missouri; two sisters, Beverly Emery of Vanzant, Missouri, and Brenda Massey and husband Kenny of Drury; nine grandchildren, Cory Tate, Brittani Roberts and husband Sam, Dyani Davis, Alanah Sawyer-Hassell, Autumn Sawyer-Hassell, Dakota Sawyer-Hassell, Darren Sawyer-Hassell, Amanda Russell, and Rebecca Russell; two great-grandchildren, Marlee Grace Roberts and Wyatt Norman Roberts; as well as other extended family and friends who will miss her.

Graveside memorial services were held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Denlow Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Ulrey officiating. Song selections were “Just As I Am,” “Precious Memories,” and “Amazing Grace.” Memorial contributions may be made to Denlow Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
