Sharon Sue Hefner

Sharon Sue Hefner, 58, of Cabool, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool.

She was born on September 13, 1958 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Diltz) Strunk.

Sue attended Norwood Schools and graduated with the class of 1976.

She was united in marriage to William Patrick Hefner on June 5, 1976, and to this union two children were born, Jennifer and Adam.

Sue was a dedicated nurse and caregiver; during her career as an LPN she strived to help everyone. She participated in a medical mission trip to Mexico in 2003 and with Convoy of Hope in 2005 to help after Hurricane Katrina.

Sue loved to grow flowers and always had a big vegetable garden every year. She especially enjoyed camping and floating trips with her family and many friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Adam Ray Hefner; and two brothers, Russell and John Strunk.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, William “Pat” Hefner of Cabool; her daughter, Jennifer Holloway of Ozark, Missouri; a granddaughter, Ila Zoe White, daughter of Adam Hefner and Emily (White) Shelly; a grandson, Sterling Ray Holloway; two brothers, Jerry and Steve Strunk; four sisters, Delores “Dee” Doty, Bonnie Kennedy, Wanda Smith and Roseann Dunn; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sue was the youngest of a very large Strunk family. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

A visitation was held on Friday, January 27, 2017, at the funeral chapel. Cremation was under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool. Online condolences may be made at www.egcfuneralhome.com.
