Junior “Frank” Hill – Passed March 23, 2017

Junior “Frank” Hill, 93, of Cabool, Missouri, was born on December 11, 1923 in Washington, Iowa, the son of Maggie Margaret (McGuigan) and Albert Franklin Hill. He departed this life on March 23, 2017 at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri, surrounded by his family.

Frank grew up in Iowa, one of 15 children. He served his country in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946, and he went on to gain his wings in Ft. Benning, Georgia, as a paratrooper. He was very proud of this accomplishment.

On January 26, 1954 Frank married the love of his life, Jackie, in Modesto, California, and they were blessed with two children, Jack and Tanya. Frank and Jackie soon moved to Colorado, where Frank owned his own service station (Hill’s Bay Service) and worked as a mechanic for several years. While in Colorado he also became an ordained minister.

Frank and Jackie moved to Cabool in 1969 and shortly after he went to work for and retired from Honeycutt Chevrolet. Frank also preached at Pea Ridge Baptist, Brown Hill and Maness Memorial Baptist Church during his life in Cabool. He was very passionate about sharing the word of God with anyone who would listen.

Frank had lots of hobbies. He enjoyed taking his family to Montauk to trout fish, he always had a huge garden, he spent countless hours in his wood shop making treasures for everyone he knew, and he loved to pick his old guitar, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Jackie; and 13 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his son, Jack and wife Sheila Hill; his daughter, Tanya Weaver; five grandchildren, Jesse and Wayne Davis, Scott and Amy Hill, Jacob and Delya Hill, Casey and Jessica McKee and Stephen and Kayla Hill; 11 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Callen, Remmy Jax, Brody, Shayla, Jaden, Lincoln, Tanner, Axl, Kailene and Emery; and one brother, Duane Hill of Kentucky. Frank was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017, at the funeral chapel with David Carroll officiating. Pallbearers were Wayne Davis, Casey McKee, Scott Hill, Jacob Hill, Stephen Hill and Brayden Grisham. Interment with full military honors was in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool. Online condolences may be made at www.egcfuneralhome.com.
