Kenneth Leland Reese

Kenneth Leland Reese, 83, of Cabool, Missouri, was born on June 24, 1933 at Vanzant, Missouri, the son of Niten and Hazel Reese. He went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 30, 2017 at Kabul Nursing Home, Cabool.

Kenneth was a very loving man who thought of everyone before himself; you didn’t talk to him very long before he would tell you how good the Lord had been to him. He loved gospel music, traveling miles to hear the quartets. He enjoyed singing with his own family on weekends and at revivals.

He truly lived a Christian life; even through his sick time he kept telling his family he was going home. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age and attended Providence Church.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Thomas; and a sister, Elizabeth.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ernestine; three daughters, Janet Justice of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Vickie Crumbley and husband Jerry of Birmingham, Alabama, and Ladonna Kennedy of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; five granddaughters; one grandson; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Stumpff of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; and a host of nieces and nephews who thought the world of him. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, at Cabool Christian Church with Ronnie Turner and Dennis Adkison officiating. Music selections were provided by David Gourley. Pallbearers were Ronald Oxley, Kenneth Knapp, Jay Gentry, Lloyd Ellis, Jeff Ellis and Jerel Ellis. Honorary pallbearers were Glen Williams, Farris Lawler, David Knapp and Verlin Rogers. Interment was in Bado Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool. Online condolences may be made at www.egcfuneralhome.com.
