Rose was born January 14, 1925 in Orangefield, Texas, to Abraham Clyde Helton and Clara Belle Matson Helton.
She was married to W.W. “Tex” Wiederaenders on April 9, 1944. He preceded her in death, as have her parents, her brother Clyde Helton of Joplin, Missouri, sister Dorothy Helton of Joplin, brother John W. Helton of Houston, Texas, daughters Benita Jane Isaman of Danville, New York, and Melissa D. Vonallmen of Cabool, as well as a grandson, Kelly Lynn Isaman of New York.
She was a homemaker, artist, music lover and poet, as well as a telephone operator for many years at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. She loved her family more than anything in this world. Her children remember her reading out loud to them and their friends even as teenagers. Rose loved gardening; it was said she had not just a green thumb but a green arm.
Rose was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Chris of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by three sons and three daughters, Michael “Mike” Wiederaenders (Connie) of Seymour, Missouri, G. Patrick Wiederaenders (Karen) of Fairway, Kansas, Jonathan G. Wiederaenders (Dixie) of Warrenton, Georgia, Kerry V. Sooger (Gary) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Melanie R. Moore (Patrick) of Cabool, and Candace A. Sternberg (1st Sgt. Retired Michael) of Plato, Missouri; son-in-law Jake Vonallmen of Cabool; 30 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Cabool Library.
