He had one older sister, Dorothy Boggs.
Bob married Patsy Covington on February 6, 1948 and during their 52 years of marriage they raised three children, Barbara, Carol and Michael. Bob joined the military at a young age and spent 28 years in service to his country. When he retired from the Air Force, Bob moved to Huggins, Missouri, and worked a number of jobs building and working on farms.
Bob enjoyed flying his own plane, gardening, raising animals and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After the passing of Bob’s first wife Patsy in 2000, Bob married Kathryn Michael on October 12, 2002. They enjoyed many years together traveling, gardening and spending time with their church family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Patsy; and his daughter, Carol.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathy of the home; his daughter, Barbara and Ed Ballinger of Norton, Kansas; his son, Michael and Karen Benson of Mountain Grove, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services with full military honors were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2017, at Cabool Christian Church with Jeff Randleman officiating. Honorary pallbearers were John Beller, Jim Beller, Everett Beller, Tom Carr, Nick Matherly, Roger Lindsey, John Holloway, Robert LaSerre, Brent Benson and Rod Farthing. Inurnment will be at a later date at No. 1 Cemetery at Huggins. Services were under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool, Missouri.
