Sheila grew up in various small towns in the Ozarks; Ava, Houston and Mtn. Grove to name a few. She moved to Texas at the age of 18, where she met Jose Luis Torres and gave birth to their first child, Louisa Ann in 1984, followed by their second, Christopher Dwayne in 1988 before returning to Missouri with her children in 1990.
During her years, Sheila worked so hard to provide her children with any and all she was able, with little to no thought of her own needs and wants. She worked in various factories and restaurants throughout her years before being diagnosed with cancer. She was given a life expectancy of two month to a year; she fought for a year and a half with the strength passed down from her ancestors and the family she was so proud to be a member of.
Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Harley Collins; a great niece, Macy Loveless; grandparents, Isaac and Gladys Collins and John and Goldie Hicks. She is survived by her children, Christopher and Louisa; her grandson, Aiden Jacob, born to Christopher Collins and Kendra Reed; her mother, Amy Collins; her sister, Kim Whanger and partner, Jerry Crotts; her brother, Wes Collins and wife, Debbie; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
