Johnny William Robertson

Johnny William Robertson, son of the late Leroy and Edith (Kelley) Robertson, was born October 17, 1938, in Bendavis, Missouri, and departed this life April 17, 2018, at Cox Health in Springfield, Missouri. He was 79 years and six months of age.

John married Shirley Patterson in 1956. Four children were born to this union.

John was a mechanic and owned his own business for several years. After retirement, he liked going to the beach and vacationing in Aruba. He also enjoyed being part of a bowling league.

Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by one sister, Ollie Marie Robertson; two brothers-in-law, Sam Barber and Jack Robertson; and his fiancé, Martha Fogel.

He is survived by three sons, Johnny Robertson and Lisa Pratt of Whiting, New Jersey, Richie Robertson of Old Bridge, New Jersey, and Tim Robertson of Cabool, Missouri; one daughter, Barbara Robertson of Cabool; three brothers, Leroy Robertson, Jr. and wife Donna of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Gene Robertson and wife Linda of Appomattox, Virginia, and Lynn Robertson and wife Valorie of Bendavis; two sisters, Karen Raney and husband Wayne of Mountain Grove, and Katherine Barber of Springfield; five grandchildren, Richard Leroy Robertson, Jr., John William Robertson III, Gregory John Kopitskie, Jr., Samantha Robertson Hicks, and Brielle Jayne Kopitskie; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Rose Marie Robertson and Brice Hicks; and other relatives and friends who will miss him.

Visitation was held Saturday, April 21, 2018, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home. Funeral services followed the visitation at 11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home, with Rev. David Leighty officiating. Song selections were “Country Boy.” “Amazing Grace.” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain.” David Robertson, Jerrell Robertson, Dale Robertson, Richard Robertson, Kevin Williams, and Brielle Jayne Kopitskie served as pallbearers. Burial was in Rock Springs Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to Rock Springs Cemetery c/o the funeral home.
