JV Lady Bulldogs beat visiting Dora team 31-15

The junior varsity won and the varsity lost a close game in girls’ basketball against Dora Monday evening at Cabool.

The score of the December 3 JV game was Cabool 31, Dora 15.

“It is so nice to have a full JV squad this season!” Coach Rance Beller said. “These girls have been working hard and they are really going to improve as the season moves along.”

Alexis Hunter led the scoring with 12 points, followed by Hailie Metheney, 6; Haylie Prifogle, 4; Tayla Whittle, 4; Vanessa Kentner, 3; and Megan Gayer, 2.

The varsity game was won by Dora, 68-63.

“This was a back and forth game all night. Give Dora credit, they really shot the ball well, and we did not. We missed several easy shots around the basket, and we have to start shooting free throws better,” Beller said. “We played hard, and we have to start rewarding ourselves by converting our free throws and easy looks.”

Stats for the varsity game were not available at press time.
