Mary Gwendolyn Woods Williams passed away February 3, 2019 in Greenville, South Carolina.
Gwen was born November 22, 1941 to Edward and Vera (King) Woods and graduated from Salem High School, Salem, Missouri, in 1959. While raising her children, Gwen lived and worked in Salem, Cabool and the Kansas City, Missouri, area.
In 1992, Gwen moved to the Baltimore, Maryland/Washington, DC area and worked for U.S. Air, then followed new opportunities with the federal government including Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Security Administration, and Department of Homeland Security. In May 2011, she married Winn Williams at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. Gwen retired from U.S. government service in 2013 and settled with her husband in Marietta, South Carolina.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Vera (King) Woods, and a nephew, Andrew Woods.
She is survived by husband, Winn Williams; children, Randall (Priscilla) Skeeters, Timolyn (Dirk) Lahr and Kurt (fiancée Kristi) Skeeters; grandchildren, Casey (fiancée Amanda) Skeeters, Cameron (C.J.) Skeeters, Drake Lahr and Chase Lahr; brother, Glen (Mary) Woods; niece, Tabitha Gill; and nephews, Phillip and Jon Woods and their families.
An informal visitation will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Pioneer Forest Office, 2265 MO-19, Salem, Missouri. Memorial service and interment arrangements for June 1, 2019 in Winchester, Kentucky, are pending.
