Irene Moore, 94, entered Heaven’s gates on April 4, 2019 at Houston House, Houston, Missouri.
She was born on May 12, 1924 to Glen and Minnie (Hilton) Hinkle at Houston.
She was saved and baptized early in life and attended church at Bucyrus Baptist and several churches in the neighborhood. She was faithful to her Lord and Savior all her life.
She married Boone Moore on July 25, 1942. They made their home in the Dykes area and raised their two sons, Robert Arlen, and Lynn Ray, on the dairy farm. Irene also worked for the dietary department at Texas County Memorial Hospital, Brown Shoe Company and the Houston Schools cafeteria. She loved to piece quilts and hand quilt. She was active in White Rock Club and enjoyed all the ladies that she quilted with. She and Boone also enjoyed square dancing.
Irene is survived by one son, Lynn Moore and wife Wanda of Cabool, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Patsy Moore of Cabool; grandchildren, Janet Moore, Shelly Mutzebaugh and husband Mike, Billy Moore and wife Karen, Verlin Moore and wife Angelia, and Debbie Pratt and husband Brett; great-grandchildren, Brandon Sigman, Trevor Sigman and wife Sydney, Clayton Moore, Wesley and Jarrod Pratt, and Kyle and Bailey Moore; two great-great-grandchildren, Tucker and Selah Sigman; one brother, Lee Hinkle of Independence, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Ursie Moore of Houston; and several nephews, nieces, and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Boone Moore; a son, Robert Arlen Moore; three brothers, infant baby Hinkle, Buck and Gene Hinkle; and her sister, Lorene Odom.
Irene will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The family respectfully suggests that donations be made to Three Rivers Hospice or Union Cemetery in lieu of flowers.
Services were held Monday, April 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Evans Funeral Home with Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Verlin Moore, Billy Moore, Brett Pratt, Kyle Moore, Clayton Moore, Wesley Pratt, Jarrod Pratt, Jim Moore, Brandon Sigman, and Trevor Sigman. Honorary pallbearer was Mike Mutzebaugh.
