Shirley Ann (Lathrom) Sillyman was born December 29, 1943 in Milton, Iowa, to Owen Elmo and Ruby Laree (Baxter) Lathrom.
She passed away May 20, 2019 at Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, Missouri, with family by her side.
She moved to Cabool in 1946 with her parents. She graduated from Cabool High School in 1962.
Two daughters were born to her first marriage, Linda Ann and Tina Jo. She married Jerry Lee Sillyman February 21, 1969, and two sons were born to that union, Jerry Lee and Paul Eugene.
Shirley began working at Brown Shoe Factory in 1972 and worked until the factory closed. She started at The Children’s Place Daycare in 1998 and retired in 2011 due to health issues.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jerry Marsh, and a granddaughter, Christina Marsh.
She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Jerry Sillyman of the home in Cabool; two daughters, Linda Thornhill of Cabool and Tina Winstead and husband Steve of Sparta, Missouri; a son, Paul Sillyman and wife Angeline of Cabool; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; a sister, Becky Loughridge of Springfield, Missouri; and many friends.
She enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles, card games and her grandkids. Shirley was loved by all and will be missed dearly.
The family respectfully suggests that donations be made to the Shirley Sillyman Memorial Fund, c/o Evans Funeral Home, in lieu of flowers.
Services were held Thursday May 23, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Loughridge officiating. Burial was in Emery Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Robbie Winstead, Tyler Marsh, Dustin Baker, T.J. Robertson, Mike Sillyman, Sean Barrett, and Jaden Barrett.
