Hayden George Casper, 17, son of Christopher James Casper and Amber Kaye Rodery of Cabool, has been chosen to attend a summer intensive at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles, California.
Through a process of audition, evaluation, and interviews, Casper will be attending AMDA, one of the top ten best colleges for performing arts in America, for two weeks in July. During the intensive, the students of all degrees will be working on a performance for the Academy faculty, staff, and students.
Casper is an incoming senior honor student at Cabool High School, where he plays football, track, and is a member of the cheer squad. He is also a bass in the choir, plays trumpet in the band, and has been a lead actor in several high school musicals, including “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” as Caleb and as Farquad in “Shrek the Musical.” Casper wishes to study acting following graduation next spring.
Friends and supporters of Hayden Casper are hosting a dinner theater to support his travels and study with AMDA on Friday, June 21, at 7:00 p.m. in Studio A at Children’s Ballet of the Ozarks in Cabool. Casper will be presenting both comedic and dramatic monologues, classical and jazz trumpet genres, and will team up with soprano Grace Shockley in a musical set from “Phantom of the Opera,” as well as soprano Brante Copling in a musical set from “Porgy and Bess.”
The dinner will be a three-course catered event with a menu of garden salad, hot rolls, chicken Marsala on rice pilaf, and dessert, all being served by friends of Casper. Tickets are $20 per person and can be reserved by calling 417-349-2338. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended.
