Dallas Eddie Grogan, 77, passed away July 6, 2019 at his home in Elk Creek, Missouri.
He was born on May 19, 1942 in Grogan, Missouri, to Archie Wilson and Jewell Irene (Shelton) Grogan.
Dallas completed eight years of schooling at Grogan Grade School and two years at Cabool High School. In 1975, Dallas married Sheila, the love of his life, and they lived in Massachusetts. He obtained employment at a plastics factory and quickly moved into management positions. For several years prior to retirement, he owned and operated D & S Plastics in Springfield, Massachusetts, and had a partnership in Plastic Resources in West Field, Massachusetts. Following his wife’s death, Dallas returned to Texas County, Missouri.
Dallas was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Jewell Grogan; his wife, Sheila; a sister, Freda Westman; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Ostlund and Ruby Atkisson.
He is survived by five sisters, Betty French (husband Terry) of Western Grove, Arkansas, Linda Rennick (husband Jerry) of Rolla, Missouri, and Lois Ostlund, Glenda Atkisson, and Caroline Grogan of Niangua, Missouri; nine nieces; five nephews; and caregiver Wendy Smith and family (Pablo and four children). Dallas considered Wendy and her family as his family. Wendy was caregiver for both Dallas and his wife, Sheila, at the end of their lives.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2019, at the funeral chapel. Interment will be at Near Home Cemetery, Elk Creek, under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool, Missouri. Online condolences may be made at www.egcfuneralhome.com
