Thomas Joseph Vokac, a resident of Cabool, Missouri, and formerly of Naperville, Illinois, passed away early Saturday morning, August 10, 2019, while at his residence. He was 75 years old.
He was born December 5, 1943 to Joseph Frank and Anne (Kalwas) Vokac in Chicago, Illinois.
Tom attended Grant Community High School in Fox Lake, Illinois, and graduated with the class of 1962. He also attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where he received his bachelor of science in industrial engineering and went on to receive his master’s degree in systems analysis.
Tom met Lucy Vasile at the University of Illinois where they were students. They were married in 1970 in Stony Point, New York. Tom worked for the Corps of Engineers at the University of Illinois; he later was employed at the U.S. Naval Shipyard in Groton, Connecticut, and he also worked for Liquid Air in Countryside, Illinois. He then went into retail business for himself before retiring.
In his spare time, Tom loved to fish, golf, and play poker. However, his favorite pastime was inventing things, and he was granted patents on his inventions. He will be dearly missed by his family, his friends, and all who knew him.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy; his daughter, Elizabeth Anne Vokac-Main and husband Justin Main and their son Julian Main of Austin, Texas; his brother, James Vokac and wife Judy of Willow Springs, Missouri; and his sister, Barbara Nyden of Willow Springs. He is further survived by nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at Willow Funeral Home, LLC with Lois Reborne officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Willow Funeral Home, LLC.
