Donald Ray Brown was born June 20, 1935 to Allison Everett and Ida Edith Skyles Brown in Cabool, Missouri, and passed away August 14, 2019, making his age 84 years, one month, and 14 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Allison Floyd “Jack” Brown, John Lloyd Brown, Leona Brown Kirkpatrick, Edith Brown Wheeler, Doris Brown Montgomery, Delman “Bob” Brown, Geraldine Brown McKee, Wiley Brown, and Joan Brown McKee; and son-in-law Steven Patrick Nelson.
Donald is survived by his wife, Loretta Jane Igou Brown of the home; his children, Donald Ray Brown, Jr. of Cabool, Allison Baker Brown (Janet) of Lebanon, Missouri, Denice Brown Baker of Fordland, Missouri, Michael Juan Brown (Christiana) of Liberal, Missouri, Sandra Diane Brown Bellamy (William) of West Plains, Missouri, and Vickie Jo Brown Nelson of Fordland, Missouri; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Ival “Chuck” McKee of Fulton, Missouri; sisters-in-law Audrey Brown Berry of Houston and Alice “Joan” Igou Gourley of Eldon; and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Donald worked for many years hauling milk then went to work for MFA for 29 years, working mostly out of the Cabool and Houston stores. His favorite hobby was tinkering in his shop on motors of all kinds and spending time with family and friends.
He was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he was head usher for many years.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Summersville, Missouri, with a memorial service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Summersville Cemetery at noon with military honors.
