Robert Dwight Colborn, 63 – Passed August 15, 2019

Robert Dwight Colborn, 63, of Cabool, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at his home after suffering a stroke on July 30, 2019.

He was born on November 17, 1955 in Sargent, Missouri, the seventh of ten children of the late Frank and Effie (Steely) Colborn.

Dwight attended and graduated from Cabool High School with the class of 1974. He was a hard worker; through the years he had driven a semi-truck, worked at El Rancho and the Brown Shoe factory and finally milked cows on the family farm.

Dwight was married to Cindy (Harns) Colborn and two children were born to this union, Mary Ann and Joseph, who was stillborn at birth. He was later married to Victoria (Hays) Colborn and to this union a son, Christopher, was born.

He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and working on the farm. He especially liked to rub it in when he caught the biggest and most fish. He also enjoyed having cookouts and spending time with family and friends.

Dwight was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joseph; two brothers, Merlin and Dwayne; two sisters-in-law, Norma Jean and Elaine; and two brothers-in-law, Carl Owens and Sophus Hicks.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Preece; his son, Christopher and wife Erin; granddaughter, Jasmine Rickerson; two grandsons, Christopher, Jr. and Alexander; two sisters, Glenda Owens and Rita Hicks; five brothers, Merle and Edith, Richard, David and Beverly, Darrell, and Denver; as well as several nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019, at the funeral chapel with Wayne Cannon officiating. Pallbearers were Dustin Hicks, Jeff Hicks, Jasmine Rickerson, Jeremy Colborn, Noah Hicks and Bubba Haywood. Honorary pallbearers were Jessica Hale and Payton Hicks. Interment was in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
