Orrin Dean Pinkston, 76, of Houston, Missouri, passed away February 6, 2020 at Truman VA Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
He was born November 15, 1943 in Wendel, Idaho, to Obadiah and Mary Ruth (Huff) Pinkston.
Dean graduated from Houston High School in 1962. He made his home in Houston doing construction work building houses. He loved sports, all sports, including football, golf, and shuffleboard.
Dean was a Vietnam War veteran with the United States Army.
He married the love of his life, Dorothy (Ragain) Hamilton, April 26, 1976, but they were together for a total of 51½ years. He and Dorothy never had children, but Dorothy had three daughters, Bobbie, Connie, and Pam.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Obe and Ruth; daughters, Bobbie Hamilton and Connie Richardson; a brother, Ed Pinkston; three brothers-in-law, David Ingalls, Bud Ragain and Mib Ragain; and two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Walls, and Barbara Pinkston.
Dean is survived by his wife, Dorothy of the home; daughter, Pam Osborn of Houston; two sisters, Diana Ingalls of Plato, Missouri, and Cheryl Haney and husband Benny of Lynchburg, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Keith Walls of Cabool, Missouri; and a sister-in-law, Fern Parks of St Louis, Missouri; three granddaughters, Penne, Tabby and Lori; two great-grandsons, Dalton and Noah; three great-granddaughters Rachel, Rose and Chasta; eight great-great-granddaughters, Alyssa, Jaiden, Riley, Zelena, Paityn, Sharilyn, Kinzleigh and Grace; and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The joy of his life was his family and friends. He will be missed by everyone.
Memorials are suggested to Sunset Cemetery in lieu of flowers.
Visitation was Thursday, February 13, 2020, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Evans Funeral Home, with services and full military honors beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
