David Kent Miley, 62, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020, at SCKMC after a long battle with cancer.
David was born on September 8, 1957, in Ark City, to Warren and Genevieve (Glick) Miley. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Ark City High School before serving in the U.S. Army and later retiring from General Electric, due to his health, in 2018. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
David loved nothing more than his family, who he put before all else. He enjoyed rock and roll music, camping, boating, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Deanna (Eastman) Miley; daughter Alisha and husband Ryan Soule; daughter Tiffany and husband Nick Vollmer; grandchildren Cruz and Jett Soule and Evie and Moxen Vollmer. He is also survived by siblings Linda and Jack Garver, Carolyn and Steven Anderson, Rebecca and the late Phil Bowman, Tommy Miley, and Robert and Kathy Miley; stepmother Louise Miley and her children, Janet Bismark, Richard Covey, Mary Sue McCarley, Barbara Standerfer and Terry Covey; aunt Dixie Grosenbacher of Cabool, Missouri; plus numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public visitation was held on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Private Rosary was held Sunday evening and a private funeral Mass was held Monday. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, limited graveside services were held 11:30 a.m. Monday at Parker Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Sacred Heart Catholic School. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are being made through the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home and Crematory of Arkansas City.
