Delores Dean (Ellis) Alexander, 91 – Passed December 3, 2020

Delores Dean (Ellis) Alexander entered her eternal home peacefully on December 3, 2020 at Willow Care Nursing Home, Willow Springs, Missouri. She was 91 years and five days old.

Delores was born on November 28, 1929 to Opal Faye (Whitson) Ellis and Virgil Roy Ellis in Cabool, Missouri. She was a sibling of eight others. She helped take care of the siblings growing up and she attended and graduated from Cabool School.

Delores met her soulmate Delbert, and they were united in marriage on March 10, 1950. They were married for 46 years before his passing. They were blessed with two great kids, Danny and Julie. They lived outside of Cabool on the farm for a while before moving to town. When they moved to town, Delores went to work at Murr Drug as a pharmacy technician before retiring after 40 years. They attended First Baptist Church where Delbert was a deacon, and she was active in the church. She was a faithful follower of Jesus up to her last breath. Everywhere she went, she asked if people knew the Lord. Upon retiring, she helped take care of the home, Dan and her grandbabies. Oh, how she loved her Danielle and Marlie.

Not only did she love her grandbabies, but coffee with name-brand creamer, coffee cups and owls. She also loved her family fiercely. You could always find her at all of the girls’ events, supporting them and encouraging them to follow their dreams. She was a very independent woman and lived at her home in Cabool until her health warranted otherwise. She will always be remembered for her boldness, her honesty, and her deep love for her family and her savior, Jesus Christ.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Alexander; her son, Danny Delbert; her parents, Virgil Roy and Opal Faye Ellis; brothers, Roy Lee Ellis of Grandview, Missouri, Virgil Euing Ellis of North Aurora, Illinois, and Norman Ellis of Baldwin City, Kansas; and sisters, Gessie Lou Owens of Springfield, Missouri, Rutheen Snellgroves of Cabool, and Bennie Sparks of Raytown, Missouri.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Brian Reese of Mountain Grove, Missouri; granddaughters, Marlie Reese of Mountain Grove and Danielle Hurd and husband Nich of Reeds Spring, Missouri; brother, Eugene Ellis and wife Polly of Camdenton, Missouri; sister, Bonnie Turman of Camden, Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Ruby Russell of Mountain Grove, Gert and husband Leon Ward of Raytown, and Sylvia Ellis of Baldwin City, Kansas, along with many other nieces, nephews and friends who will deeply miss her.
