Matthew Duane Campbell, 54 – Passed January 3, 2021

Matthew Duane Campbell, 54, of Cabool, Missouri, left this earth at 3:49 p.m. on January 3, 2021, after a hard-fought battle with pneumonia. Without a doubt, “the original hardworking man,” as he referred to himself, fixed or adjusted something as he passed through the pearly gates on his way to Heaven.

Duane was born on June 9, 1966 in Fulton, Kentucky, the son of Jerry Dale Campbell and Betty Jo Leclere.

He was a hardworking and hard-loving man. He worked long hours for almost 25 years as a maintenance technician and then maintenance supervisor at DFA in Cabool to provide for his family and still always had time to take care of others. Duane was always generous with his time and always motivated to tackle whatever chore needed completion. He was a man of many talents, and rarely was there a task he didn’t know how to do or couldn’t figure out. He was never a man stifled by obligation to his family but flourished in the ability to help those he loved.

Duane is survived by his wife, Machelle Campbell; mother, Betty Jo Leclere and husband Robert; father, Jerry Dale Campbell and wife Sharon; sisters, Melissa Burpo and husband Dickey and Vanessa Hopper and husband Tim; son, Brandon Campbell and Shaye Ellis; daughter, Kayla Campbell; three stepsons and their wives, Josh and Stephanie Sigman, William and Ashley Collins and Adam and Sara White; thirteen grandchildren, Wyatt, Nebraska, Isaac, Eli Duane, Ava, Aurora, Jake, Zachary, Dylan, Sylee, Khloe, Logan and Samantha; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The hole that he leaves in his family can only be made acceptable with the knowledge that he is in Paradise for eternity and all of us that have accepted Christ will see him again in perfection.

Private family services will be held with Benjamin Leonard officiating. Public viewing will be from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2020, at the funeral chapel. Interment will be at a later date in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool. Online condolences may be made at www.egcfuneralhome.com.
