School board to reorganize, elect officer, review bids at Monday’s meeting

Reorganization of Cabool Board of Education will take place at Monday evening’s meeting at Cabool Middle School’s library. Steve Hawkins and Chelsea Melton, who were chosen by voters in the April 6 election, will be sworn in for three-year terms, then the entire board will vote in officers for 2021-22.

Also on the tentative agenda for the 5:30 p.m. meeting April 12 are the review of bids for football field improvements, elementary school playground improvements, and purchase of two SUVs; coaches’ salaries; surplus property; a job description for assistant principal; and professional development expenditures. An update of COVID-19 numbers in the school system will also be given.

A closed session is planned as allowed by state law.
