Ted Lee Stapp, 61, of Cabool, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2021.
He was born on January 31, 1960 to Clarence and Dorothy Flood Stapp in Houston, Missouri.
Ted received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at a young age at Cabool Christian Church. He graduated from Cabool High School in 1978 and attended college at SMSU in Springfield, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Cathy White on May 12, 1984. They were married for 37 years.
Ted was a motivated, intelligent, hard-working man. He loved to read and spend time with his family at his home in Cabool, where he spent many hours riding around and sitting by the fire. Ted and Cathy never had any children of their own, but made up for it with their fur babies, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews who liked to refer to him as Uncle Teddy Bear. He was a man of few words, but he always managed to say exactly what needed to be heard.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy of the home; one brother, Steve Stapp and Gail Martin of Cabool; three sisters, Karin (Roger) Rader, Donna (Paul) Ames and Patti (Steve) Mitchem, all of Springfield, Missouri; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. It cannot be put into words how deeply he will be missed.
Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2021, at Oakdale Cemetery with John Stone officiating. Pallbearers were Travis Lunbeck, Levi White, Cody White, Rance Beller, Mark Speake and Caleb Rust. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Stapp and Jimmy Letterman. Interment was in Oakdale Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool. Online condolences may be made at www.egcfuneralhome.com.
